ITINERARY:DAY 1. Arrival
Arrival at Bucharest airport and transfer to Casa Folea guest house where we will spend 2 nights. Accommodation in big dormitories with 2, 4 or 8 beds rooms with outstanding views of the mountains.
DAY 2. Piatra Craiului Nationl Park
Walk to the rustic Curmatura hut into the Piatra Craiului National Park where we will have a drink and lunch and then walk back to Casa Folea. In the evening BBQ in a sheep farm (1 hour walk from the guesthouse).
Approx. 7-8h - Total ascent 400m - Total descent 600m
DAY 3. Zarnesti - Brasov
Transfer to Zarnesti in order to leave the luggage and than transfer to Brasov. Hike to the "7 Ladders" canyon from Piatra Mare Massif (2-3 h). In the afternoon we will spend 3 hours in the “Parc Aventura Brasov”, the biggest adventure park in Eastern Europe, located only 15 minutes drive from Piatra Mare Massif.
DAY 4. Bran
Visit to the Bran Castle a.k.a Dracula's Castle. Walk in the Bucegi Mountains with splendid views of the Craiului Mountains and then to Moieciu village. Transfer to Bran (5-6 h).
DAY 5. National Park - Bear watching
Full day biking tour in the National Park. (5-6 h). In the evening we will have the bear watching program (4-5 h) in Zarnesti. From June to August the probability to see bears are 70-90%. Zarnesti once was made famous through the “Large Carnivore Project” dealing with the bears, wolves and lynx in Romania.
DAY 6. Sighisoara
Day trip to Sighisoara (Zarnesti – Sighisoara: 147 km). Sighisoara - the birth place of count Dracula - is UNESCO heritage listed and is known as the pearl of Transylvania. Located on the Tarnava Mare River, the town was built by Saxons between the 12th and 17th centuries. Eleven towers guard Sighisoara's walls, among them Tailors' Tower and Shoemakers' Tower.
DAY 7. Departure
Transfer to Bucharest airport for departure.
