Bulgaria is a historical bridge between the west and the east, a crossroad in the heart of the Balkan Peninsula, a small country offering an ideal terrain for great sensations.
The rich history of Bulgaria, one of the oldest countries in Europe, left its archeological and architectural mark in the wold's heritage. The country is littered with museums, topped with Thracian tombs, treasures and Roman ruins.
The various, unspoilt, landscape brought Bulgaria’s fame for ecotourism and active travel. Nearly 50% of the country’s surface is mountainous, with pine forests, green plains, rivers, lakes and hidden valleys where quaint villages and monasteries are nestling.
You may choose among summer or winter activities in the mountains, be it ski resorts or the Black sea coast, relaxing SPA at one of the 1600 mineral water sources among which the hottest is 103°, the only geyser in continental Europe, or a curative mud session.
Every season is suitable to visit Bulgaria, but you can combine your trip with one of the Bulgarian cultural events: Trifon Zarezan (Wine Celebration), Sirni Zagovezni and Koukerovden (Mummers’ Day) in February; Nestinarski dances on red hot coals in May; Rose festival (the first week of June).
