INTRODUCTION:
In addition to transport you to the wonders of the desert and one of the highest dunes in Morocco, this tour takes you through the features of the Moroccan culture and history. You will visit the Draa, the longest river in morocco (1100 km) and the village of tamgroute, the location of the zaouia nassiriya, the green enamel pottery and one of the most precious manuscript libaries in Morocco. We will pass by the capital city of the traditionnal berber carpets and get acquiainted with the dromedaries that will carry you on their humps for 2 half days.

ITINERARY:
Day 1. Marrakesh - Tamnougalte - Zagora

Day 1. Marrakesh - Tamnougalte - Zagora
Early departure from Marrakesh by 4x4, crossing the pass of Tizi-n-Tichka ("pasture pass": 2260m), on a dizzying route that passes through the most beautiful landscapes of the High Atlas. Visit of the Kasbah of Ait-Benhaddou (UNESCO heritage since 1987), with lunch in the Kasbah of Tamnougalte. After another 20 km we will reach the famous valley of Draa, then Zagora.
Day 2. Tamgroute - M'hamid El Ghizlane
Day 2. Tamgroute - M'hamid El Ghizlane
After breakfast, we will head to Tamgroute. This small village contains several wonders: the unique underground Kasbah, the famous manuscripts library that is among the most precious national heritage libraries and the full scale handmade green enamel pottery, cooked in a traditionnal 1000° oven. You may enjoy watching the whole manufactoring process of this very special pottery. After lunch in M'hamid El Ghizlane, and a two hours trek on dromedaries, we will stay in a bivouac, the real nomad's tent.
Day 3. M'hamid El Ghizlane - Erg Chegaga
After breakfast, we return to M'hamid El Ghizlane on dromedaries. This old trans-saharan trade point is nowadays famous as a starting point of numerous splendid tours. It hosts every year the international nomads festival. We head to Erg Chegaga by 4x4 (60 km on the track), one of the two major dunes in Morocco and the largest one. A lunch is served at an Oasis, and we stay in bivouacs at Erg Chegaga.
Day 3. M'hamid El Ghizlane - Erg Chegaga

Day 4. Foum Zguid - Marrakesh
We head to Foum-Zguid via an old track of Paris-Dakar and the lake seh Iriqui, with lunch in Taznakht. This city is famous for the traditionnal berber carpet weaving and the surrounding caves. Arrival to Marrakesh at early evening.

Transfer to the airport for departure.
